It’s a Wonderful Life – A Live Radio Play
West Virginia University Parkersburg and the Actors of Guild of Parkersburg are teaming up this holiday season to present “It’s a Wonderful Life – A Live Radio Play”. Based upon everybody’s favorite Christmas movie, this adaptation by Joe Landry brings the familiar story to life on stage as though presented as a live radio show, complete with sound effects. There will be two performances in the Little Theatre at WVU-P on Saturday, December 7 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 8 at 2:30 pm. Tickets will be $10.
We hope to have WVU-P students and faculty involved in the production along with participants from the Actors Guild. Auditions will be held at WVU-P at 4:00 pm on Monday, November 4 in the Multi-Purpose Room and at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 5 in the Caperton Center Auditorium, and at the Actors Guild Annex (Former Cox Building) at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 7.
The productions will be presented as a reader’s theatre. Therefore, actors will use scripts on stage as performers would have done in the days of live radio shows. You will be asked to read from the script at auditions. We can also use those interested in doing the live sound effects or tech. No experience is necessary and all are welcome!
Hope to see many of you at auditions. If you have any questions, please contact the director, David Rexroad, at [email protected].
