SHOW DESCRIPTION
The stage show is a musical which dramatizes the debates and events leading to the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. During its 70-year history, the Actors Guild has presented the musical three times: in 1972, 1986, and 2002. To help commemorate this history, the production will feature a few of the original cast members from each of these productions. From the 1972 production, David Rexroad will be playing Edward Rutledge; from the 1986 production will be Jeff Haught as John Adams, Barbara Full as Abigail Adams, and Steve Goers as John Dickinson (to honor his late father’s performance as Dickinson in that production); and from the 2002 production: Charlie Matthews as John Hancock.
All other roles will be available at the open auditions. The production will be a fully costumed semi-staged version where scripts will be used on stage, with memorization not necessarily required.
